Centre, Inc. Adult & Adolescent Residential

RESIDENTIAL TRANSITIONAL LIVING ADULTS

Centre’s residential services provide a supportive and structured living environment in which drug testing, intensive monitoring and other services are provided to adults. The transitional residential facility is staffed on a twenty-four hour a day basis. Although most residents are allowed to leave the facility for work and/or programming purposes, they must sign out and in with staff approval prior to leaving and upon return. Depending on varied referral source parameters and/or level/phase systems, residents may also sign out for other purposes.

The client’s length of time in residency varies, as each individual is unique, with special needs and circumstances. However, during their stay, residents are expected to comply with the facility rules and actively participate in recommended counseling and/or programming. Clients are ordinarily discharge upon achieving the goals of the individualized treatment plan applicable to the current level of care or upon successfully completing any court ordered sentence. Clients may be discharged at any time for violating program policies or demonstrating a lack of motivation in addressing issues.

RESIDENTIAL LIVING ADOLESCENTS

The adolescent program is a 6 to 8 week residential substance abuse treatment program for adolescents ages 12-17. The combined residential, treatment, and education program is provided through a cooperative effort between Centre, Inc. providing the residential, Northeast Human Service Center providing the treatment, and Grand Forks Public Schools providing the education component.  The program is licensed by the State of North Dakota’s foster care system as a group home. The program is also licensed through the Department of Human Services Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health to provide alcohol and drug treatment services.

Referrals/placements come from a variety of persons/institutions which include, but are not necessarily limited to: parents, the court system, social service agencies, private treatment providers, and other private agencies. The program initially consists of living in a structured living environment.  Clients are subject to responsible daily living, drug testing, intensive monitoring, and chemical dependency and other treatment services. The residential facilities are staffed on a twenty-four hour a day basis. The addiction counselors provide group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy. Addiction treatment is primarily done in a group setting.  The licensed addiction counselor is each client’s primary counselor and case manager.  Psychiatric, psychological, and medication services are provided by Northeast Human Service Center and Centre staff collaboratively, unless the participant has an alternative local private provider.

Academic services are provided onsite for those enrolled in school.  A state certified teacher is provided by the Grand Forks School District.
