Down Home Founder and Executive Director Joins Centre’s Board
Centre is proud to announce the addition of the agency’s newest member of the Board of Directors, Jenessa Fillipi.

Jenessa Fillipi, Founder and Executive Director of Down Home, officially joined Centre’s Board of Directors on June 26, 2025.
From her professional bio:
“I am a devoted wife of over 20 years, proud mother of four, and a purpose-driven leader grounded in faith. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Teaching and a master’s degree in School Counseling, both from Minnesota State University Moorhead. For 15 years, I served as an elementary school counselor, walking alongside children and families to support their emotional, social, and academic growth.
In 2017, my husband and I answered a divinely inspired call to create lasting change by founding Down Home, a nonprofit that empowers lives and stabilizes those emerging from homelessness by furnishing homes, strengthening connections, and transforming communities. What began as one act of service has grown into a powerful movement fueled by community, compassion, and transformation.Today, I serve as the Executive Director of Down Home, where I lead with conviction, vision, and a heart for people. I was honored to be named the 2024 American Mothers, Inc.® National Mother of the Year®, and I continue to use my voice as a storyteller to engage, equip, and activate others. I believe deeply in the power of our stories—and in the impact we can make when we embrace our calling and step forward in faith.”
It is a minimum one-year commitment to serve on Centre’s Board of Directors, which meets quarterly.
